Escorted tours of Antarctica, expertly guided

Where the world’s most extreme landscapes, colossal icebergs and remarkable wildlife create a profound sense of isolation and majesty, offering the most remote and transformative expedition experience on the planet.

A silent kingdom of ice, summits and eternal white

Antarctica is a destination beyond comparison, where frozen seas meet jagged peaks and the sheer scale of the environment humbles all who visit. Travelling here reveals a world of absolute purity and rare encounters, from watching minke whales break the surface of glassy bays to walking among thousands of king penguins. Whether navigating the peninsula by expedition ship or flying to the geographic South Pole, Antarctica offers moments of deep reflection and awe that redefine your perspective on the natural world.

A seasonal guide to Antarctica

Spring Summer Autumn Winter

Spring

November

As the pack ice breaks, Antarctica is at its most pristine with untouched snow and massive icebergs. This is the best time to see penguins beginning their nesting rituals and courting displays. The late-season light provides exceptional opportunities for professional-grade photography in the southern sun.

Summer

December to January

This peak period offers nearly 24 hours of daylight and the warmest temperatures of the year. Penguin chicks begin to hatch, creating a flurry of activity in the rookeries, and the receding ice allows for deeper exploration into the Weddell Sea. It is the prime window for kayaking and polar camping.

Autumn

February to March

This is the premier time for whale watching as humpback, minke, and orca whales are at their most active and numerous. The receding ice allows expedition vessels to push further south, often crossing the Antarctic Circle. You can witness the spectacular transition as penguin chicks fledge and prepare for the sea.

Winter

April to October

During the austral winter, the continent is locked in ice and total darkness, making it inaccessible to leisure travel. The environment becomes a sanctuary for only the hardiest species and scientific teams. This period is a time of extreme stillness, preserving the continent for the return of the summer sun.

The natural wonders

Antarctica is home to wildlife found nowhere else on earth. Colossal colonies of Adélie and gentoo penguins dominate the shorelines, while leopard seals and orcas patrol the icy waters. Massive blue whales and humpbacks migrate here to feed in the nutrient-rich seas. The scenery itself is a wonder, with ancient glaciers calving into the ocean and a silence so profound it feels life-enhancing, shaping an environment that is both timeless and powerful.
