With flights included from Santiago, you embark at Punta Arenas and sail via the Strait of Magellan to the Falklands, then South Georgia, then Antarctica, before crossing the Drake Passage northbound back to Punta Arenas. The Drake crossing comes towards the end, after South Georgia and the Peninsula.
Zodiac cruising and shore landings are included throughout. In Antarctica you can typically add sea kayaking, camping a night on the ice and snowshoeing, all weather permitting and bookable on board. The Falklands also offer optional hikes and wildlife excursions.
Four days, conditions permitting, which is what makes this a true in-depth expedition rather than a brief call. South Georgia’s king penguin colonies and Shackleton history are a highlight of the whole voyage.
