Day 1

Your journey begins | Oslo, Norway

Depart London on your flight to Oslo, the elegant Norwegian capital. On arrival, transfer to the Thon Hotel Bristol, a grand heritage hotel in the heart of the city centre. Spend the evening at leisure exploring Oslo's vibrant waterfront and celebrated dining scene.

Day 2

Longyearbyen | Longyearbyen, Svalbard

Fly north to Longyearbyen, the world's northernmost settlement, nestled beneath rugged peaks on the shores of Adventfjorden. Transfer to the port and board the Aqua Lares, your luxurious expedition vessel for the next seven nights. Settle into your cabin and enjoy your first onboard dinner as the ship slips out of the fjord and into the Arctic wilderness.

Day 3

Northwest Svalbard | Ny-Alesund, Svalbard

Sail along Svalbard's northwestern coast, calling at the remote research settlement of Ny-Alesund, once the launching point for expeditions to the North Pole. Explore glacial landscapes on zodiac excursions and watch for reindeer, Arctic fox, and migratory seabirds along the shoreline.

Day 4

Northern Svalbard | Moffen Island, Svalbard

The Aqua Lares pushes further north, crossing the eightieth parallel towards the pack ice. Watch for walrus hauled out on the beaches of Moffen Island and scan the ice floes for polar bears hunting seals. The midnight sun bathes the Arctic seascape in a warm, golden glow throughout the night.

Day 5

Hinlopen Strait | Alkefjellet, Svalbard

Navigate the narrow Hinlopen Strait, one of the most wildlife-rich waterways in the Arctic. Cruise beneath the towering bird cliffs of Alkefjellet, where hundreds of thousands of Brunnich's guillemots nest on sheer basalt columns. Continue to the immense Brasvellbreen glacier front, a wall of ice stretching for kilometres along the coastline.

Day 6

Eastern Svalbard | Barentsoya, Svalbard

Explore the remote eastern shores of Svalbard, where polar desert landscapes meet ice-choked fjords. Join zodiac excursions to search for polar bears and walrus along the coastline of Barentsoya, and marvel at the stark beauty of this rarely visited region.

Day 7

Southern Svalbard | Hornsund, Svalbard

Sail south to Hornsund, a magnificent fjord surrounded by jagged peaks and calving glaciers. This is one of the best locations in Svalbard for spotting polar bears, and zodiac cruises along the glacier fronts often reveal seals resting on ice floes. Kayak through crystal-clear waters for an unforgettable perspective on this frozen wilderness.

Day 8

Isfjorden | Longyearbyen, Svalbard

The expedition returns to Isfjorden and the waters around Longyearbyen. Enjoy a final morning zodiac excursion before the ship moors for disembarkation. Spend the afternoon exploring Longyearbyen's museums and galleries before a farewell dinner on board.

Day 9

Oslo | Oslo, Norway

Disembark the Aqua Lares in Longyearbyen and transfer to the airport for your flight south to Oslo. Check into the Thon Hotel Bristol for a final night in the Norwegian capital.

Day 10

Arrive home | London Heathrow, United Kingdom

Transfer to Oslo airport for your flight back to London, arriving home with memories of polar bears on ice floes, towering glacier fronts, and the endless light of the Arctic summer.
