FAQs
This is a grand one-way southbound voyage from Svalbard to Iceland, by way of East Greenland. From Longyearbyen you explore Svalbard, cross to Greenland for Ittoqqortoormiit and Scoresby Sund, then sail down the Iceland coast to Reykjavik. Note that it runs southbound, the reverse of the northbound Classic and True voyages, and at eighteen days it is the fullest itinerary of the set.
It is the longest and most complete, a genuine three-country grand voyage in ultra-luxury, and it sails southbound (Svalbard to Iceland) rather than northbound. It includes both East Greenland (Scoresby Sund and Ittoqqortoormiit) and a thorough exploration of Iceland’s coasts, where the Classic is more value-led and the True takes in Jan Mayen rather than Greenland.
Svalbard brings polar bears, walrus, reindeer and seabird cliffs against calving glaciers; East Greenland brings the turquoise icebergs and sheer walls of Scoresby Sund; Iceland brings waterfalls, fishing villages and folklore-rich coasts. Wildlife is wild and never guaranteed, but the range across three lands is exceptional.
The fare is cruise-inclusive, and an optional flight package can add international flights, transfers and hotels for a seamless arrangement. Without it, you arrange your own flights into Longyearbyen and home from Reykjavik, and your Expedition Expert can advise. Pre and post land programmes and city stays may be available.
