Diving-Focused Galápagos Extended Expedition Cruise
Diving-Focused Galápagos Extended Expedition Cruise
For experienced divers, the Galápagos holds some of the most thrilling water on the planet, and this dedicated liveaboard is built to reach it. Sailing north from the central islands to the remote, uninhabited pinnacles of Darwin and Wolf, the voyage puts you among the greatest gatherings of large marine life anywhere: schools of scalloped hammerheads sweeping past in their hundreds, whale sharks the size of buses in season, mantas, eagle rays, Galápagos and silky sharks, turtles and vast bait balls hunted by sea lions and dolphins. These are advanced dives in cool, current-swept water, rewarded with encounters found nowhere else. Between the big northern days you dive gentler central sites and step ashore by Zodiac to walk among the islands’ famous land wildlife, giant tortoises, marine iguanas and penguins, so the archipelago’s terrestrial magic is not missed. Aboard an intimate sixteen-guest vessel with a well-designed dive deck, Nitrox and expert dive guides, it is a serious week for serious divers, and the trip of a lifetime for those who make it.

FAQs
Yes. This is a dedicated diving itinerary for certified divers with logged experience. The far-northern sites off Darwin and Wolf involve cool water, strong currents and advanced conditions, so operators require an appropriate qualification and a minimum number of logged dives. It is not suitable as a learn-to-dive trip.
The Galápagos is famous for big animals. Off Darwin and Wolf you can expect schooling scalloped hammerheads, Galápagos and silky sharks, turtles, eagle rays and, in season, whale sharks, alongside sea lions and dolphins. Central sites add reef fish, rays and playful sea lions. Wildlife is wild and never guaranteed, but the encounters here are world class.
Diving is year-round, but the seasons differ. The cooler, choppier months of roughly June to November bring the famous whale sharks to Darwin and generally the biggest big-animal action, while the warmer months from December to May offer calmer, clearer, warmer water. Your Expedition Expert can advise on the trade-offs.
Yes. Although the emphasis is firmly on diving, the itinerary includes land visits by Zodiac between the northern dive days, typically to meet giant tortoises, marine iguanas and penguins, and often a visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station on Santa Cruz, so the islands’ terrestrial magic is not missed. Note that Darwin and Wolf themselves are dived only, with no landings.
