Day 1

Quito, Ecuador

Your journey begins with your flight to Quito, followed by a smooth transfer to your hotel, where you can relax and settle into the rhythm of the city. Set high in the Andes and framed by snowcapped volcanoes, Quito unfolds as a living museum. Its historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is rich with colonial churches, monasteries, paintings, and intricate carvings that reflect a remarkable blend of Spanish, Flemish, and Moorish influences. Known as the Convent of America, the city is home to an extraordinary concentration of 16th and 17th century religious architecture. Just 14 miles away lies the equatorial line, marking the middle of the world and adding to Quito’s enduring sense of wonder.

Day 2

Quito, Ecuador

This morning, explore Quito on a guided sightseeing tour, set at an altitude of around 9,350ft., offering a rich introduction to its cultural and religious heritage. Walking through the UNESCO listed historic centre, you step into Ecuador’s colonial past, where centuries old churches and monasteries shape the city’s soul. Visit Independence Square, framed by the Government Palace, Bishops Palace, and the Cathedral, before admiring the lavishly decorated Church of La Campania on San Francisco Square. A chocolate tasting follows, revealing why Ecuador produces some of the world’s finest cacao. The day continues at the Equatorial Line Monument called “Middle of the World”., where you stand astride the equator and visit the Ethnographical Museum, bringing Ecuador’s indigenous cultures vividly to life.

Day 3

Coca, Ecuador

An early transfer takes you to Quito airport for your flight to Coca, the gateway to Ecuador’s Amazon. On arrival, the team from La Selva Lodge welcomes you and escorts you on a scenic journey by motorised canoe along rainforest rivers to Garzacocha Lagoon, before a gentle paddle brings you to the lodge. Set deep within one of the most biodiverse regions on earth, La Selva offers comfort amid wild beauty. This afternoon, set out on a guided walk along the Matapalo trail, discovering towering strangler figs and fascinating rainforest life. As night falls, glide across the lagoon by canoe, spotting caimans, owls, and bats beneath a brilliant Amazon sky.

Day 4

Amazon region, Ecuador

After breakfast, set out on a gentle walk to a 122ft. high observation tower, rising above the rainforest canopy. From this lofty viewpoint, watch colourful birdlife and, if luck is on your side, spot monkeys or sloths moving through the treetops. Continue on foot to Mandi Cocha lagoon, where your guide shares knowledge of medicinal plants and the remarkable flora and fauna of the Amazon, with the chance of seeing giant otters. Following lunch, explore Garzacocha Lagoon by canoe, home to hoatzins, monkeys, and striking black water forests. As darkness falls, venture into the jungle on a guided night walk, revealing a hidden world of insects, amphibians, and nocturnal wildlife.

Day 5

Amazon region, Ecuador

Begin the day at the parrot salt lick in Yasuni National Park, one of the most biologically diverse places on earth. On a clear, sunny morning, watch hundreds of colourful parrots descend from the treetops to nibble mineral-rich clay, binoculars in hand. Later, visit the nearby Pilchi community, where indigenous families welcome you into their homes and schools, sharing traditional crafts, local flavours, and their unique way of life. In the afternoon, hike along the shores of Garzacocha Lagoon on the Coto Trail, spotting black tamarin monkeys, tapirs, and medicinal plants. End the day with a tranquil canoe ride back to the lodge, watching caimans and bats emerge at dusk.

Day 6

Quito, Ecuador

After a breakfast, say farewell to La Selva Lodge as the staff assist with your luggage. Glide along the river by motorised canoe back to Coca, where you are met and guided through check-in for your flight. Upon arrival in Quito, make your own way to the hotel to relax and reflect on your unforgettable Amazon adventure.

Day 7

Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Fly from Quito to the Galapagos and arrive at Baltra airport, where our team escorts you to the jetty. Step aboard Aqua Mare, the first 50 metre luxury superyacht in the islands, and enjoy a welcome lunch. In the afternoon, explore the pristine white sands of Bahia Borrero on northern Santa Cruz. Spot Darwin’s finches among the coastal vegetation or snorkel with sea turtles at their nesting grounds. Return to the yacht to savour a Nikkei-inspired dinner by renowned chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, sharing stories of your first Galapagos encounter as the sun sets over this extraordinary archipelago.

Day 8

Genovesa Island, Galapagos

Wake up on the other side of the equator and begin the day at Bahia Darwin’s coral beach, where a morning of hiking and snorkelling introduces you to coastal wildlife. After a leisurely lunch, explore Genovesa Island by tender, navigating volcanic rocks to spot fur seals resting in hidden crevices. A hike inland brings you face to face with red-footed boobies, great frigatebirds, and Galapagos storm petrels. Return to the yacht in the evening and unwind with a private movie screening or simply gaze at the starlit skies from the sun deck, soaking in the magic of this extraordinary archipelago.

Day 9

Santiago Island, Galapagos

Begin the day with a sunrise workout or guided meditation on the sun deck, followed by a refreshing breakfast. Head to Santiago Island for a dry landing at Bahía Sullivan, exploring recent Pahoehoe lava flows and the island’s rugged volcanic landscape. After a leisurely lunch and a talk from an expert naturalist onboard Aqua Mare, visit Sombrero Chino Island, named for its small crater. In the surrounding crystal-clear waters, observe sea lions and Galapagos penguins, or enjoy snorkelling, stand-up paddle boarding, and kayaking. Return to the yacht for sundowners and a signature dinner of macambo rice and fish maito under the evening sky.

Day 10

Bartolome Island, Galapagos

Morning greets you at Bartolome Island with a mild climb to the summit of a spatter cone, revealing breathtaking views of the island’s iconic Pinnacle Rock. Afterward, snorkel in crystal-clear waters among sea turtles and Galapagos penguins before returning to the yacht for lunch as we sail to Santa Cruz Island. In the afternoon, explore Cerro Dragon, or Dragon Hill, once a stronghold for land iguanas. Back on board, share the day’s highlights while savouring regional seafood specialties, from pan-seared scallops to grilled squid, under the warm glow of a Galapagos sunset.

Day 11

Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos

Step into a nature reserve this morning to observe the Galapagos’ legendary giant tortoises roaming freely. Birdlife abounds with Darwin’s finches, yellow warblers, flycatchers, and cattle egrets, and if luck is on your side, elusive Galapagos rails. After a leisurely lunch, visit Darwin Station and the National Park headquarters to learn about conservation efforts. Enjoy free time in the charming town of Puerto Ayora before returning to the yacht, where the upper deck offers the perfect vantage point to watch a spectacular Galapagos sunset, reflecting on the extraordinary wildlife and landscapes you have experienced.

Day 12

Espanola Island, Galapagos

Start the day with a guided meditation on the upper deck before disembarking at Punta Suárez, one of the Galapagos’ most remarkable landing sites. Witness unique wildlife, from Espanola mockingbirds and lava lizards to marine iguanas and the iconic waved albatross. In the afternoon, explore nearby islets by tender, snorkelling with playful sea lions and colourful reef fish. Visit Bahia Gardner, a pristine coralline sand beach hosting one of the largest sea lion colonies in the islands. Return to the yacht for Happy Hour at the bar with a signature Aqua Bloody Mare, watching the sun set as we sail to our next anchorage.

Day 13

Sante Fe Island & Plaza Sur Island, Galapagos

After a night of sailing, arrive at Santa Fe Island, one of the oldest in the archipelago, where palo santo trees, pear cactus, and native shrubs shape a striking landscape. Spot land iguanas, lava lizards, mockingbirds, and Darwin’s finches before enjoying snorkelling, kayaking, or stand-up paddle boarding in the surrounding waters. After lunch on board, sail to Plaza Sur Island and embark on a two-hour guided hike across its small yet diverse terrain, discovering unique rock formations and wildlife. Return to the yacht to reflect on the day’s adventures under a starlit Galapagos sky, glass of wine in hand.

Day 14

Depart Galapagos Islands

Start the day with a leisurely breakfast before bidding farewell to the Aqua Mare crew. Take a final short excursion to the highlands of Santa Cruz Island to admire the twin craters of Los Gemelos, surrounded by lush vegetation. Afterwards, you are escorted to Baltra Island for your flight back to the mainland, carrying with your memories of the Galapagos’ extraordinary wildlife, landscapes, and adventures.
