It sails one way between Kununurra (embarking at nearby Wyndham) and Broome, and also operates in reverse on selected dates. You will need a flight into one gateway and out of the other, as neither is included.
A small ship of about thirty guests can reach coves, creeks and art sites that larger vessels cannot, and means you actively take part, fishing, walking and exploring by tender, rather than simply watching from a distance.
King George Falls, the tidal rapids of Horizontal Falls, and Montgomery Reef emerging from the sea are the icons, alongside ancient rock art, saltwater crocodiles and, in season, humpback whales.
The Kimberley season runs through the dry, roughly March to August. Early season brings fuller waterfalls, while July to September is best for humpback whales in these waters.
