Day 1

Journey begins

Start your adventure with a flight to Kathmandu, the gateway to the Himalayas. As the plane lifts off, watch the world shrink beneath you and let your anticipation grow. Soon, the vibrant colours, bustling streets, and rich culture of Nepal await your arrival.

Day 2

Kathmandu, Nepal

Arrive in Kathmandu, where a warm welcome awaits before you are escorted to your hotel. Take time to rest and settle, easing into the gentle rhythm of the valley beneath distant Himalayan peaks. If time permits, step out for an introduction to the city. Wander through vibrant bazaars scented with incense and spice, where temple bells echo and artisans craft their wares in narrow lanes. As evening falls, enjoy a refined Nepali dinner accompanied by traditional music and dance, an evocative glimpse into the country’s rich cultural heritage.

Day 3

Kathmandu, Nepal

After breakfast, step into the spiritual heart of the valley at Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu sanctuary and UNESCO World Heritage site set along the Bagmati river. Smoke from butter lamps drifts through the air as saffron clad sadhus gather and pilgrims offer prayers to Lord Shiva. The atmosphere is deeply moving and quietly powerful. Continue to Boudhanath Stupa, also UNESCO listed and among the largest stupas in the world, rising 36 metres above the surrounding rooftops. Prayer wheels spin softly as monks and pilgrims circle the vast white dome in steady devotion. In the afternoon, explore Patan Durbar Square, a masterpiece of Newari craftsmanship. Day 4

Chitwan National Park, Nepal

This morning, fly from Kathmandu to Bharatpur, then continue by road into the subtropical wilderness of Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site of tall grasslands and dense Sal (Shorea Robusta) forest. Settle into your refined jungle lodge and take in the stillness. In the afternoon, drift for two hours along the Rapti river towards its meeting with the Narayani. Watch for marsh mugger crocodiles and vibrant birdlife as the water glows in the late light. At sunset, raise a quiet toast at the river confluence. As night falls, enjoy a traditional Tharu cultural dance, followed by dinner beneath the stars by the pool.

Day 5

Chitwan National Park, Nepal

At first light, venture deep into Chitwan National Park on a jeep safari for 3 to 4 hours. The morning mist lingers over tall elephant grass and riverbeds as your expert naturalist guides you through this remarkable wilderness. Look out for one horned rhinoceros grazing in the plains, herds of deer moving silently through dense forest and, if fortune allows the elusive Royal Bengal tiger. Birdlife flashes overhead in brilliant colour. Return to your lodge for a leisurely lunch before visiting a nearby Tharu village. Day 6

Bandipur, Nepal

After breakfast, travel by road through rolling countryside and terraced fields to the hilltop town of Bandipur. The drive reveals sweeping views of the Marsyangdi valley and distant Himalayan peaks rising beyond scattered villages. On arrival, wander through quiet, traffic free lanes lined with beautifully preserved Newari houses, carved wooden balconies and ancient temples that speak of a prosperous trading past. As the sun dips behind layered hills, settle into the calm of the town and savour traditional Newari dishes, enjoying a gentle evening in this timeless mountain retreat.

Day 7

Pokhara, Nepal

Begin your morning at Tundikhel Viewpoint, a wide plateau on the edge of Bandipur. From here, the Himalayas unfold in a magnificent panorama, with Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu rising above terraced valleys. As the sun paints the sky in soft orange and pink, pause to breathe in the serene beauty. Later, journey to Pokhara and head to the tranquil Phewa Lake. Glide across its calm waters by boat, taking in the lush greenery and the iconic Machhapuchhre or Fishtail Mountain. Day 8

Pokhara, Nepal

Day 9

Kathmandu to Dhulikhel, Nepal

Begin the day with a scenic flight back to Kathmandu, offering one last aerial view of the snow-capped Himalayas. From there, drive to Bhaktapur, a medieval jewel of the Kathmandu Valley. Wander the cobbled streets of Durbar Square, where intricately carved temples, centuries-old palaces, and the towering Nyatapola Temple reveal the artistry of Newar culture. Visit the 55-Window Palace and Pottery Square, watching skilled artisans shape clay into delicate works, before savouring a traditional Newari lunch featuring the creamy Juju Dhau. Depart Dhulikhel

After a journey through Nepal’s vibrant culture and majestic landscapes, enjoy a leisurely breakfast in Dhulikhel. Later, drive back to Kathmandu for your onward flight, carrying with you memories of Himalayan peaks, bustling bazaars, and serene villages that will linger long after your departure.
