Le Lyrial
About Le Lyrial
No stranger to sailing the world’s most remote regions, Ponant Cruises’ Le Lyrial is a 264 guest capacity expedition ship that could easily be categorised as a luxury yacht. Despite her outwards elegance, she is purpose-built for exploring both tropical and polar climates and a great choice if you are looking for the opportunity to enjoy in depth discovery without having to sacrifice on space or facilities.
For accessing remote landing zones or for a close quarters exploration, Le Lyrial is equipped with a fleet of 12 Zodiac boats. Weather permitting, these can be deployed at a moment’s notice and are always accompanied by a member of Le Lyrial’s expedition team.
Le Lyrial also boasts its own watersports marina which is located on deck 2 at the rear of the ship. While there are no powered watersports tools onboard, the easy access it gives to the sea is fantastic for a bit of afternoon swimming – especially if you are in the calmer waters of a tropical region such as the Indian Ocean.
To further enhance your experience, the ship’s theatre, Le Theatre, doubles as a lecture room during the day and hosts a programme packed with guest lectures and seminars. Throughout your time on Le Lyrial, the theatre will serve as your headquarters on the ship and it is here you will attend daily briefings before making landings ashore.
Le Lyrial’s accommodation consists of the following categories: Standard Staterooms, Deluxe Staterooms and Prestige Suites. The Prestige Suite is the largest of the ship’s accommodation grades, though you will find all of the staterooms are spacious, offer glorious ocean views and boast en-suite bathrooms, TV/DVD players, climate control and king-size or twin beds.
Where dining is concerned, Le Lyrial offers a choice of two restaurants. The ship’s primary dining room, serves a combination of French dishes and international cuisine, paired with fine wines in an elegant setting. The secondary restaurant, The Grill – also known as Le Rodrigues – is a more informal affair and is open for breakfast, a buffet-style lunch and theme-dinners.
During the evenings, a light programme of entertainment can be enjoyed in the ship’s main lounge and can include anything from live music to performances from local entertainers.
The other facilities on Le Lyrial comprise of a fitness centre, a library, two pools, a full service salon and a spa.
