Tour Summary

Fly to Zanzibar and enjoy a two-night stay allowing you plenty of time to explore the island
and its rich cultural heritage before joining your luxury and purpose-built exploration yacht to explore the Naturalists’ Indian Ocean islands.

Enjoy 11 nights aboard as you sail east to the white sands of Misali, to enchanting Pemba
with its lush vegetation then on to explore the former Swahili Trading town of Kilwa Kisiwani accompanied throughout by expert naturalists and local experts.

Visiting UNESCO WOLD HERITAGE SITES, conservation projects and the natural habitat of animals, mammals, birds and fish, you will make your way through the extraordinary outer island of the Seychelles towards La Digue and thence to Mahe.

Fragile coral reefs, smooth boulders, shimmering lagoons, volcanic calderas, mangrove
forests and atolls are home to extraordinary wildlife including many species of Turtle, sea
bird and fish.

Zodiac safaris, the chance to swim, explore, paddleboard and kayak help illuminate the
itinerary while the luxury onboard facilities and luxurious appointments ensure guests an

Your Itinerary

Day 1 - To Zanzibar
Meals Included: No Meals

Arrive from London. On arrival, our team will meet you and transfer you to the luxurious Serena Zanzibar Hotel for a two-night stay in a Garden Room. We do also offer an optional three-night safari to the outstanding Ngorongoro Crater (at a supplement).
Day 2 - Zanzibar (at leisure)
Meals Included: Breakfast

Enjoy the beach and pool or explore Stone Town the capital with its the small but well-preserved Anglican Cathedral, the national museum with its collection of historic displays dating back to Dr Livingstone (and Stanley), or why not visit to one of the local spice farms and discover how the tastes we love are derived. The brimming market/souk is a must-see while the scents emanating from the thousand year old fish market are legendary. Naturalists will be fascinated by the extraordinary Jozani Forest, the remains of a primeval forest that previously was all over the island.
Day 3 - Morning at leisure, then afternoon embarkation

Your luxury yacht, the 5-star rated Le Dumont D’Urville will be ready for embarking guests around tea time, so the day is yours to enjoy. Air-conditioned transfers will take you to the vessel that will berth in Stone Town.
Day 4 - Misali Conservation Island

Since 1998 Misali has been a Conservation Area where the sea beds and white sandy beaches are home to a myriad of fauna and flora. A great place to kick back, it also offers outstanding snorkelling.
Day 5 - Pemba – the Green island
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

The lush vegetation across the island brings sweet scents of cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, pepper and cinnamon to the nose while the folk songs of womenfolk harvesting red algae is utterly enchanting.
Day 6 - Kilwa Kisiwani - World Heritage Site B, L, D

An early North African Explorer, Ibn Battouta once described the thousand-year-old former Swahili trading post as one of the most beautiful in the world, its riches coming from trading spice, gold, slaves and ivory. Today we can still see architectural evidence of their rule all over the island and the extraordinary and beautiful Great Mosque is the oldest remaining in East Africa.
Day 7 - Leisure Day at Sea

Enjoy the superb facilities aboard as the vessel glides through the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Its an ideal time to keep your camera close to hand to get outstanding wildlife pictures.
Day 8 - Assumption
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

One of the outer Aldabra islands, Assumption is somewhat kidney shaped and largely uninhabited. Low-lying and sandy, it is a major nursery for sea turtles while the inviting waters around it are ideal for snorkelling and diving.
Day 9 - Aldabra Atoll – World Heritage Site

Wildly held to be among the last few untouched wildlife sanctuaries on the planet and surrounded by coral reefs which have formed a mangrove lined lagoon, the Atoll is a sanctuary to all forms of wildlife. Due to its relative inaccessibility, Aldabra has been protected from human influence and thus retains some 152,000 giant tortoises, the world's largest population of this reptile.
Day 10 - South to Astove Island
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

To the southern extreme of the reach of the coral islands of the Seychelles, uninhabited Astove is covered by coconut trees, a legacy from when it was a plantation. Just off the coast the seabed drops 40 meters attracting many species of fish making it ideal for divers and snorkellers alike.
Day 11 - Leisure Day at Sea

Day 12 - St Francois

Protected by a coral reef, this picture postcard atoll is formed of two islands, St Francois and Bijoutier and are a peaceful and stunningly beautiful home to myriad birds, turtles and fish and the gentle sloping beaches make discovery walks, swimming and snorkelling easily accessible.
Day 13 - La Digue
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Despite being one of the largest islands in the Seychelles chain there is no motorised transport ensuring that the fragile eco-system is not impaired. Lush vegetation sweeps down to fine sand beaches with scatterings of large smoothed pink-hued granite rocks which are signature to these beautiful islands and are a haven for turtles and seabirds.
Day 14 - Mahe Island
Meals Included: Breakfast

Despite being one of the largest islands in the Seychelles chain there is no motorised transport ensuring that the fragile eco-system is not impaired. Lush vegetation sweeps down to fine sand beaches with scatterings of large smoothed pink-hued granite rocks which are signature to these beautiful islands and are a haven for turtles and seabirds.
Day 15 - Mahe Island
