Set sail for a once-in-a-lifetime journey deep into wild Antarctica on this remarkable 13 day expedition cruise aboard the Greg Mortimer.
Your Antarctica experience begins in Punta Arenas where you will have an afternoon to explore this historic Chilean seaport at your leisure before enjoying an overnight stay in a central hotel. The following morning you will be transferred to the airport for a scenic flight to King George Island. Often referred to as the ‘Gateway to Antarctica’, it is here where you will board the Greg Mortimer and begin your voyage.
For the next six days you will be based in the Antarctic Peninsula. During your time here you will have ample opportunity to explore, with stops scheduled in Seymour Island, James Ross Island, Port Lockroy and Paradise Harbour. When not exploring ashore, the Greg Mortimer will take you on a journey full of visual thrills; you will sail past mountainous tabular icebergs in the Antarctic Sound and spend time in the mesmerising, ice-filled Weddell Sea.
On day 12 you will leave Antarctica and cross the Drake Passage bound for Ushuaia. Upon arrival the following morning, you will disembark and be transferred to the airport for your flight back to the UK. Alternatively, you also have the option extend your stay in the region further with the addition of an extension trip – simply ask our Expedition Experts for details.Contact Us
